Six MPs to apologize

Author : | Published: Wednesday, May 1, 2013

The Six members of the Northern Bahr el Ghazal State Legislative Assembly who were dismissed by the governor last year have been asked to submit apology letters to the SPLM office in the State. The six MPs and the speaker were dismissed by Governor Paul Malong on accusation that they caused rifts within the SPLM party and of being disloyal. However, President Salva Kiir –as the chairman of the SPLM intervened and asked governor Malong to reinstate the MPs and the speaker unconditionally. Speaking to Eye Radio, the State assembly’s chief whip Honorable Daniel Akol Diing says the 6 members will only be re-instated to their positions after writing an official apology letter to the SPLM. Honorable Akol also appealed to the local community members to persuade the six MPs to accept writing the apology letter to the SPLM to which they also represent in the assembly. He added that their absence in parliament has delayed delivery of services to their respective constituencies.
