At least three people have been reportedly killed in a latest gunfire in Ezo County in Western Equatoria State.

According to the authorities on the ground, the fighting erupted this morning between local youth and the army.

The cause of the fighting is not clear.

However, the commissioner of Ezo County, Luciano Bakimbe, told Eye Radio this morning that the security situation is worsening.

“The reason I said it is worse than that of yesterday [Friday], is that, there is randomly shooting. They are even used artilleries,” Mr Bakimbe stressed.

Two people were killed in a similar shooting in Ezo town on Thursday, after two soldiers were reported missing from their barrack.

Commissioner Bakimbe appealed to the government to urgently look into the matter.
