UNMISS says two dead bodies were found near its camp in Benitu in Unity State this week.

The mission’s Acting spokesperson, Joe Contreras, says the camp is sheltering more than 47,000 internally displaced persons.

“On Monday 29th, September two bodies were found not far from the perimeter of our protection of civilian site inside the UNMISS compound north of Bentiu,” said Mr Contreas.

The bodies were found outside the camp, north of Bentiu.

Mr Joe also says armed men tried to enter the same camp on Wednesday.

He says the armed men were prevented from entering the camp, but their presence resulted into panic among those sheltering at the camp.

Joe Contreras added that no weapons were fired and the situation returned to normal some hours later.
