Foreign affairs ministry reviews employees’ school docs

Author : | Published: Friday, May 1, 2015

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is reviewing all the certificates of its employees, an official has said.

The Undersecretary at the ministry, Abdun Terkoc, says the screening will enable the ministry to find those who have forged documents.

Ambassador Terkoc says those who have forged school documents could be punished.

“This is a world of technology. Sometime a forged certificate may look exactly the same as the original, Mr Terkoc stated.

“I’ve been working in this department. When I was in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Khartoum, we caught so many people.”

Recently, Kenyan and Ugandan authorities reported that some universities offer fake academic papers to students in exchange for huge sums of money.

Thousands of South Sudanese study in the East Africa, mostly in Uganda and Kenya.

“We are going to be very tough about certificates,” Mr Terkoc added.
