More than 3,500 people have been displaced by floods in Kapoeta North County. According to Eastern Equatoria State officials.

The floods resulted from heavy rains in the past few days.

“All their foods are destroyed; their huts were destroyed. They have lost most of their properties: food and nonfood items are all washed out,” Commissioner Charles Lokonoi stressed.

Mr Lokonoi called for an urgent humanitarian intervention.

“They need some medical supplies like mosquito nets and other things.”

Yesterday, the rains destroyed the main bridge linking the three counties of Greater Kapoeta to Torit.
