24 people were killed and 16 wounded in a suspected cattle raid on a local village in Yirol West County over the weekend.

County commissioner Kuach Dhieu says gunmen attacked a camp in Pabob on Saturday evening and drove off with several cattle.

Children were among those killed in the incident. Mr Kuach says the death toll could even be higher.

“That fighting took place around 6pm: 24 people dead, including girls – one underage and then two were matured,” Mr Dhieu told Eye Radio.

Mr Kuach says police forces are still searching for more victims of the raid.
