The rate of malaria infection has increase in Yei River County in the last three months, according to health authorities.

A report by the county health department indicated high prevalence among adults and pregnant women in the area.

The County health data officer, Micheal Lasuba, told Eye Radio that over 8,000 cases were recorded for children under 5 years and over 11,000 among adults, including pregnant women.

“The reason may be because parents are more concerned about their children than themselves, and the second reason is that children are given nets during their routine immunizations,” Mr Lasuba said.
