Yau Yau, Lobong sign security deal

Greater Pibor administrative area has signed a memorandum of understanding with Eastern Equatoria State government to improve security and services between the two areas.

The Chief Administrator for Greater Pibor, David Yau Yau, says the MoU provides for deployment of police to prevent crimes.

Yau Yau says the agreement also provides for construction of a road network linking Pibor to Juba, through Kapoeta and Torit.

“So since we have a lot of problem that have been committed by our people, the pastoral community, we are going to have a joint police forces that may monitor raiding and abduction,” he told Eye Radio.

The MoU was signed this week at a 3-day forum attended by the Eastern Equatoria State, Louis Lobong, in Pibor.

State minister of health Dr Margret Itto signed on behalf of the Eastern Equatoria state government.
