SPLA agriculture school affected by withdrawal of funding

The SPLA says the US Agency for International Development has withdrawn support to agriculture projects due to the ongoing crisis.

General Kuol Dem Kuol, is the Executive director for the department of economic and cooperatives, told Eye Radio that they trained more than 300 SPLA soldiers before the USAID withdrew the assistance.

“We have an agricultural school belonging to the military institution; we trained the SPLA in agriculture and this in collaboration with the USA state department,” Gen Kuol confirmed.

“They were giving us help and support before their activities were suspended. We managed to train about 300 SPLA soldier in agriculture field.”

Gen Kuol added that the agriculture school of the military institution has now been affected by the withdrawal of the assistance.
