Two children were murdered by unidentified perpetrators on Monday in Tonj South County of Warrap State, police said.

According to a police investigator, the toddlers known to be sisters went missing from home on Sunday in Warapet village while their parents were absent.

First Lieutenant David Bol says 5-year-old Awut Chilong and 3-year-old Adual Chilong were found dead on Monday morning after a search by the organized forces.

The police detective said the kids were slaughtered.

“What happened yesterday is something bad, because people were in a market in Tonj South and in the village, there were two children who were left at home, the father and mother were not around,” said Bol.

“Then the unknown person came and he took the children to the bush. I don’t know exactly the time these people were slaughtered whether at day time or at night I don’t know.”

“But this morning all the organize forces; police and SSPDF went out there and they found the children dead. Their bodies were brought in Tonj South police station in Tonj South here.”

Lieutenant Bol said their corpses were then taken to the hospital for an investigation.

He is calling on the citizens to provide information that can lead to arrest of the perpetrator, whose identity is not known.
