SSRC concerned about humanitarian access

South Sudan Red Cross Society says insecurity and bad roads in some parts of the country are hindering provision of humanitarian services to the people affected by the conflict.

First Aid Coordinator, Yohannes Johnson says it is now difficult for vulnerable people to access emergency aid.

He spoke to Eye Radio this morning.

“We are faced with many challenges and the main challenges are insecurity which affects the movement of humanitarian services that we deliver to the people directly,” he said adding: “Secondly lack of access is another challenge and that is all about roads, because we cannot access some of the areas since they become inaccessible. When it rains, automatically you have no other choice of moving by road.”

The state comes ahead of the international first aid day, which the South Sudan Red Cross Society will mark tomorrow across the states.
