The SPLA has promised to clear the salary arrears of its disgruntled wounded soldiers.
Yesterday, hundreds of wounded soldiers staged a protest over unpaid salaries.
They blocked traffic at the University of Juba junction, putting up roadblocks and throwing stones at passing cars.
Army spokesman Philip Aguer attributed the delayed payment to a lack of an automatic system to transfer the money.
“It was a delay of salary which the administration promised to solve and I believe by today solution should be out,” Col Aguer told Eye Radio.
He said added that the wounded soldiers have not been paid in months because they were admitted at the military hospital at Giada.
