S. Sudan & Sudan to talk bilateral relations in Moscow

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the Government of Russia has invited South Sudan and Sudan to discuss relations between the two countries.

It says the meeting will discuss bilateral and cooperation agreement between South Sudan and Sudan.

The Spokesperson of the ministry, Mawen Makol says the Foreign Minister, Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin and his Sudanese counterpart; Ibrahim Ghandoor will attend the two-day meeting in Moscow, next week.

Ambassador Mawen says the meeting will be mediated by the Russian Foreign Affairs Minister, Seje Labrov.

“That meeting was called by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Seje Labrov. They will discuss the issue of the two countries; Sudan and S. Sudan, on the cooperation agreements, revival of those cooperation agreements,” Ambassador Mawen to Eye Radio.

The three will also discuss ways on how to implement the peace agreement recently signed by Presidents Salva Kiir and Dr.Riek Machar last month.

“They will touch the area of implementation of peace agreement in S. Sudan, and also they will talk on security arrangements and the cooperation Agreements between Sudan and S. Sudan.”

“…Russia thought it will be very good to bring the two countries together this time, such that, if S. Sudan is to implement the agreement, yes, Sudan has to stand with S. Sudan of course.”

Mr. Mawen said the meeting will be held from 9th to 11th September.
