More than 2,000 IDPs in the Rumbek Town, Lakes, are in need of humanitarian assistance, according to officials.
They fled their homes in Malek Payam after inter-communal fighting in the area in 2014.
The Commissioner of Rumbek Centre County, Mawet Manuer, says some of the displaced are now willing to go back to their homes after the communities resolved to live in peace.
“They don’t have even shelter and food,” Mr Manuer told Eye Radio
Mr Manuer called on humanitarian agencies to assist the IDPs resettle.
In 2014, MPs from Lakes State told the parliament that more than 500 people had been killed in inter-communal clashes in the area.
