The Commissioner of the South Sudan Human Rights Commission is urging the public to report any case of right abuses observed in the communities.

Fidencia Charles says such violations may include rape, killing, destruction of property among others.

She says public participation will help the commission investigate and report to the government and the international community so that perpetrators are held accountable.

“We need people to come to the office so that we investigate them, and based on those findings we give our recommendations,” Ms Charles said.

Ms Charles spoke to Eye Radio this morning as South Sudan commemorates the Human Rights day under the theme: “Stand Up For Someone’s Right Today”.

The day is markedglobally on the 10th of December every year.
