Private schools outshine public schools in 2022 primary exam

Private schools have performed better than the public schools in the 2022 Certificate of Primary Education examinations results, an official at the Ministry of General Education has said.

The result named Alpha Junior Academy in Jonglei State, JCC Model primary school in Central Equatoria State at the 1st position with 84.6%.

All Saints Primary School in Lakes State was the 2nd in the best performance with 84.4%.

The 3rd best-performing school was St. Bakhita primary school in Warrap State, and St. Paul Nursery and Primary School in Central Equatoria State with 84.3%.

Juba Diplomatic Nursery and Primary School in Central Equatoria, and Ireno Dud Foundation Primary School in Lakes State are ranked in the 4th position with 84.1% respectively.

The results further named Kampala Prime School in Central Equatoria State at the 5th position with a total of 83.9%.

Venus Star Academy Goroyo Primary School in Central Equatoria State made it to the 6th position with 83.7%.

Alel Chok Complex Primary School in Western Bahr el Ghazal State was in the 7th best-performed position with 83.6%.

Open Sky International Primary School in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State was named the 8th best-performed school with 83.5%.

While St. Theresa’s Primary School in Central Equatoria State became the 9th with a total of 83.2%.

Don Bosco Primary School in Warrp State, King Solomon Primary School, and the City of Glory Primary School in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State secured the 10th position with 83.1%.

Speaking during the announcement of the results in Juba yesterday, the Deputy Minister of General Education, Martin Tako said more than 1,000 candidates were absent during the examinations.

“Private schools still dominate most of these results. 99.9% result, the first ten performances all are from private schools. There was a notable increase of absentees in 2022, 1,748 of which 6, 19 are male and 409 female.” said Martin Tako.
