President Kiir suspends Deng Alor, Kosti Manibe

President Salva Kiir has suspended Finance Minister, Kosti Manibe Ngai, and the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Deng Alor Kuol, over corruption allegations.

The President lifted the two ministers’ impunity and appointed a committee headed by the anti-corruption boss John Gatwitch Lul to investigate the alleged transfer of 7 point 9 million US dollars to a private company in Juba.

According to the presidential decree the Deputy Ministers of each ministry will replace the suspended Ministers, in accordance with Article 117(3) of the Transitional Constitution of 2011.
