Peace and Recon. Comm. reaches Jonglei & Lakes

The chairman of the peace and reconciliation committee says they have started peace campaigns in Lakes and Jonglei states.

Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul is urging the people in the villages and cattle camps to stop fighting.

“I am now able to go to the cattle camps. I am able to go to the villages where I am being reached and this is what we want to do; to inform people about what is happening, let the people be informed about what has gone wrong so that they are part of us.” He said.

The archbishop says they also informing people in the rural areas about the peace process in Addis Ababa.

“You find that its only people in Juba, in big towns who are well aware about what is going on but the people in villages know nothing. They even find themselves fighting and they don’t know why they are fighting.” He said.
