The Chamber of the Commerce in Northern Bahr El-Ghazal State is urging traders to fight hunger by reducing the prices of basic commodities in the markets.

The price of a bucket of sorghum has gone up from 12 to 15 pounds over the past two weeks.

This has prompted the chamber of commerce to appeal to traders to reduce the price.

It says some traders have hoarded quantities of sorghum with the aim of increasing the price later.

The chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce in Aweil East, Pasqual Deng, said traders can help ordinary citizens fight hunger by reducing the prices of goods in the markets.
