The caretaker governor of Northern Bahr El Ghazal has denied accusations by members of the state parliament that he awarded a Letter of Credit worth three million US dollars to his relatives.

The state MPs impeached Kuel Aguer Kuel last month over allegations of corruption and nepotism in his administration, including the award of the credit letters.

Kuel said the Ministry of Trade and Investment was given the responsibility to approve the funds for the traders.

“…that list of distribution of letter of credit is with the ministry of trade, so there is no contract I have given.’’ He said.
