Authorities in Lakes State say the suspect who killed the land inspector has been identified.

Sabit Kuluel, the State Land Inspector, was killed at Rumbek Central County on this week.

The state acting minister of Information, Dhieu Wol, told Eye Radio that the suspect is being followed by the police.

He says the killing of the land inspector is suspected to be a revenge attack.

“…the person’s name has been identified. He is being followed and he will be apprehended by the police.” Kuluel said.

Last month minister Dhieu said the state government was implementing the resolutions of the peace conference, including disarmament, to reduce cattle raiding and revenge killings in the state.

There have been rampant killings in Lakes State in recent months.
