Warrap withholds salaries of AWOL teachers

Author : | Published: Monday, June 8, 2015

Authorities in Warrap State are withholding three-month salaries of teachers accused of absenting from work for several months.

The director general in the ministry of education, Andriano Kiir Ayuel, says 36 teachers have been affected.

He says the teachers left their duties without permission. Some went to study in the five public universities across the country.

Mr Ayuel says a committee has been formed to review the list to release salaries of those who took permission.

Some of the teachers have confirmed that their salaries have been detained. They told Eye Radio that they are waiting for the findings of the committee reviewing the list.
