President Salva Kiir and the leader of the SPLM-SPLA in the Opposition, Dr. Riek Machar have arrived in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa for talks.
The two leaders will meet separately with the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Hailemariam Dessalegn, first before any face-to-face talks.
This peace talk comes after visits by the U.S Secretary of State, John Kerry and the United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon to Juba to put pressure on the warring parties to end the violence.
This pressure included the announcement of the U.S sanctions on two army generals.
Early this week, the two sides signed a recommitment to allow humanitarian access which allows food supplies to be delivered to people in conflict affected areas.
