The Information Minister Michael Makuei Lueth has accused the SPLM/SPLA in Opposition of breaching the agreement on cessation of hostilities.

Mr. Makuei said the rebel forces have continued to launch assaults against government forces.

He was also addressing reporters at the Juba International airport yesterday.

“I’m informed that the rebel forces are still continuing to attack our forces,” said Mr Makuei, “for that matter, if nothing is done by the IGAD, then definitely, our forces will not fold their hand but to defend themselves.”

The SPLM-SPLA in the opposition group deputy spokesperson Yohanis Musa Pouk has said his side will file a complaint to IGAD regarding violations from the government side.

Mr. Pouk also urged the IGAD mediators to urgently launch the Monitoring and Verification Mechanism in order to monitor the implementation of the agreement, and help stop any military confrontations.
