IGAD heads of state arrive in Juba for a summit

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ethiopian Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn, have arrived in Juba for a summit of the IGAD heads of states today.

The Prime Minister of Uganda, Ruhakana Rugunda, representing President Yoweri Museveni also arrived for the summit yesterday.

The leaders will meet with President Salva Kiir to discuss a framework agreement reached by the SPLM factions in Arusha,Tanzania this week.

The leaders will also discuss solutions to the current crisis in South Sudan.

“Kenya is committed to a speedy resolution to the South Sudan conflict,” Pres Uhuru wrote on his Facebook page shortly before jetting to Juba this morning.
