The South Sudan’s Red Cross Society has launched a cleaning campaign in Pibor town of Buma state.

The Society Director David Gai Deer says the initiative is to help promote and improve hygiene in the town.
Mr Gai says 25 healthy volunteers were trained to implement the campaign.

He spoke to Eye Radio about what the organization wants to achieve with the project.

“We decided to make the cleanup campaign that is supported by the authorities in Pibor to make sure that we keep the town clean… We also wanted to show to the community that leaving in a clean environment is very important and is also a basic to the live,” he said.

“Keeping the environment clean will keep us away from the threat of the dangerous diseases such as Cholera.”
