Hunger looms in Kapoeta, EES-Commisioner

The Commissioner of Kapeota-East in Eastern Equatoria State says there will be hunger in his county because the harvest season this year has failed.

Titus Lokwachuma says farmers in the county planted crops late because the rainy season in the area started late.

He says the prices of food items in the markers are expected to rise.

“The agriculture season has failed due to you know the rain started late and our people are using the traditional method of cultivation. They are using the traditional method of cultivation that is a very big problem.” he said.

Commissioner Titus Lokwachuma says the people of Kapeota-East mainly grow sorghum because they have only one season.
