The government has issued a position on the resolution of the current crisis.

On the structure of the government during the transitional period, it proposes two vice presidents with equal status or creation of a position of non-executive prime minister under the vice president.

On power sharing, the government takes 60 percent. The SPLM in Opposition and Former Detainees will take 30 percent and 10 percent will be for other political parties.

It says only rebels who were in the SPLA will be reintegrated into the army and other organized forces with their previous ranks.

The government also says elections will be organized by the National Elections Commission only, but other regional bodies shall monitor or assist the process.

The Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Michael Makuei Lueth shared the government position with journalists this afternoon in Juba.
