Author : | Published: Sunday, November 9, 2014

There have been reports of fighting in Unity State last evening between government troops and the SPLA in Opposition forces.

Both sides have confirmed that they clashed in Tor area in Pariang County, but accuse each other of starting the fighting. No casualties have been reported.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Barnaba Marial Benjamin, said the SPLA in Opposition forces had attacked government positions in the area.

But in an announcement, the military spokesman of the SPLA in Opposition, denied they attacked first.

The clash comes a day after the leaders of the two warring parties, President Salva Kiir and Dr Riek Machar, met in Addis Ababa and said they would make peace.
