Gogrial: Displaced residents need food aid

Communities in Gogrial East and Gogrial West are facing hunger due to recent communal clashes, a Warrap government official has said.

15 people were killed and several others displaced when two communities from the counties fought over grazing land more than a week ago.

The state Minister of Information, Paul Dhel Gum, says police are still pursuing people suspected of looting and damaging property of residents during the clashes.

He told Eye Radio that families, whose properties were looted, now have no food.

“They have run away for safety and therefore there is no food available to anybody across that line,” Mr Dhel told Eye Radio.

He added that the state government is still finding ways for delivering justice to the victims of the fighting.
