Equity Bank opens a branch at Jebel

Equity Bank has launched a new branch at the South Sudan Beverages Limited Complex at Jebel area South of Juba.

Paul Gitahi, the Managing Director of the bank said the bank will benefit people who are residing in the area and international organizations that operate around Jebel.

“As a bank, we are aware first and foremost, we want to prioritize by providing banking services that will enable business people within the Jebel Market, business on the Yei Road to develop a savings culture,” Mr Gitahi told Eye Radio.

‘Give back to the community’

Mr. Gitahi said Equity Bank will work together with the residents of Jebel to develop the area.

“Equity Bank believes in giving back to the society. There is a possibility that we can we make an intervention together with SSBL, but that is after studying the needs and talking with the community leadership here so that we can identify the areas of intervention that the bank can help the society.”

Recently, the Kenya-based bank funded construction of a kitchen store facility and sanitary facility at Straight Link Orphanage.

It has employed many young South Sudanese as bankers across the country.

The bank has opened the branch in Jebel in partnership with South Sudan Beverages Limited.
