Peace mobilizers are receiving a training that will enable them to help in reconciliation process in the country.

The training is being facilitated by the Episcopal Church of South Sudan.

The Bishop of the Episcopal church of South Sudan Diocese of Wau says the 8-member group is made up of faith-based practitioners from across the ten states and Abyei.

Moses Deng told Eye Radio the team will share knowledge and experiences on the various approaches to reconciliation.

“When we bring the peace mobilisers together and train them from Lakes, from Unity from Warrap, and then they are able now to know one another,” said Bishop Deng.

“It is already a way of starting to build bridges. Because one of our motto is ‘building bridges across the political, social, ethnic and religious divides.”

Bishop Deng says the mobilizers have been trained for one month in Yei and they will be sent back into their communities to influence change.

The members are expected not to take sides in conflicts.
