CES seeks new bridge, school in Eliaba Surur’s name

The Central Equatoria State Council of Ministers has resolvedthat a memorial boarding school and a bridge be named after the late veteran South Sudanese Politician, Eliaba James Surur.

Hon Eliaba Surur died on the 17TH of August in the Ugandan capital Kampala, and he was laid to rest early this month in Mukaya Payam.

The proposed Eliaba Surur Bridge will link Mukaya West and Mukaya East in Lanya County.

The proposal was presented to the Council of Ministers by the State Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Professor Scopas Dima.

The State Minister of Information, Suba Samuel Manase, says the cabinet has also instructed the Juba City Council to name one of the streets in Juba after the late Veteran Politician, Eliaba Surur.

The state’s Council of Ministers after intensive discussions resolved to construct “a mixed boarding secondary school in Mukaya Payam in honors of late Elioba James Surur.”

They also “instructed” the Minister of Physical Infrastructure in the state “to take some technical staff to Mukaya to assess the possibility of building a bridge along Yei River to link up Mukaya West to East.”

Mr. Suba Samuel said the Council of Ministers has also directed the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and the Juba County to allocate a piece of land for the burial of Central Equatoria State Heroes and heroines.

He said the cabinet proposed that the piece of land should be at least three acres.
