The Central Bank has introduced new notes of the pound, in 10 and 20 denominations.
The new notes of ten pounds are green in color to differentiate them from those of one hundred, according to the Director General for Banking Operation and Currency, Albino Dak Ottow.
He says the 20-pound notes are brown in color and will replace the 25 pound denomination.
Mr Dak says the 25 pounds will be in use until they are all collected by the Central Bank.
“So when you receive this, it doesn’t mean that it is already cancelled. No. They will be working side by side in circulation,” he told Eye Radio.
Mr Dak said the Central Bank started the circulation of the new currencies on Monday.
