Western Equatoria State has raised 60,000 pounds to repair roads linking the state to the neighboring states and Uganda.

Charles Kisanga, The Minister of Information, said the roads were damaged by the recent rains.

He said the government and the traders have decided to repair more than 10 kilometers of road leading to Uganda.

“We looked for machines and the ministry of physical infrastructure went and reviewed the general situation in the roads because all of the roads were closed,” Mr Kisanga explained to Eye Radio’s Dawn this morning.

“We asked people to donate fuel or money or anything they have for the work of maintaining of the roads because we need fuel for the machines that will lift stones and soil to the pot holes.

Mr. Charles appealed to citizens and the rest to continue donating money or fuel for the maintenance of the road.
