Around 4,000 people entering South Sudan through Juba and Wau airports are tested weekly for Ebola virus.

Thomas Hakim, from the Ministry of Health, says no cases have been detected.

“We are continuing to do the screening at the major points of entry which is Juba International Airport and Wau international Airport and we see Around 4,000 people per week,” said Mr Hakim.

Mr. Hakim says tents have also been setup in Nimule Hospital and in front of the Immigration office for screening.

He says similar precautionary measures against Ebola are being carried out at the entry point in Kaya.

The ministry has trained medical personnel on how to manage the screening.

So far, 5,000 people have died from Ebola in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
