The commissioner of Yei River County and the Mayor of Yei municipality have been dismissed.

Yesterday, CES Governor Konga issued a decree removing Commissioner David Juma Augustine and Mayor Cecilia Oba from the office.

It was not clear why they have been dismissed.

The State Minister of Information, Suba Samuel Manase, told Eye Radio that the governor has appointed Mr. Bedale Cosmos Sumbe as a new Commissioner for Yei.

He says Governor Konga has also appointed Mr. Santo Paul Lasuba as a new Mayor for Yei Municipality.

“The governor did not assign those whom has relived from the office, may that will happen sometimes later, but not now,” he said.

Mr. Suba Samuel said the decree for the removal of the two government officials from Yei was effect from the date of its announcement yesterday.
