Chabur suspended over alleged fraud

Author : | Published: Thursday, December 1, 2016

The President of the South Sudan Football Association, Chabur Goc Alei, has been suspended over alleged funds embezzlement, an official has said.

Mr Goc allegedly transferred more than $400,000 to private accounts in 2015. The money belonged to the association, according to a statement dated 30 November.

He also reportedly falsely borrowed $12,000, on behalf of a board member.

This came after a release of a financial report by KPMG auditors, a firm based in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Board of Directors has recommended an investigation into the financial fraud.
