Unidentified men shoot dead five SPLA soldiers in Yei

At least five SPLA soldiers were shot dead in an attack by unknown armed men in Mugwo Payam in Yei, according to the Information Minister.

According to the state information minister Stephen Ladu Onemo, the Soldiers were attacked at the Payam base while on patrol on Sunday.

He said the security situation is relatively calm and transport from Yei to the Kaya at the border with Uganda has resumed after heavy fighting.

“On July 31st. At six o’clock in the morning, the attackers managed to kill five Government soldiers but currently the place is under control by the Government,” he narrated.

He condemned the killing incident.
