More than 60 victims of the Maridi fire incident are recovering from burns, medical authorities in Juba Teaching Hospital have said.

More than 200 others died when a fuel tanker exploded in Mambe junction in Maridi County mid this month.

The Medical Director for Accidents and Emergency says 67 people were rushed to the hospital with injuries more than a week ago, but three of them have died so far.

Dr. Abraham Adut says the patients are responding to treatment.

“The condition is okay; they are improving far better than last week,” Dr Adut said.
