Women activists are calling on IGAD and the warring parties to increase representation of all tribes in the government as part of reform during the transitional period.

Lona James Elia is the Executive Director for the Voice for Change, a South Sudanese Non- governmental Organization told Eye Radio that the office of the president should be rotated among all the regions in order to avoid domination and manipulation by few communities.

“And maybe one of the things that we can address in the reform, maybe presidency should be rotational, or the vice presidency should be rotational or something that will be applicable and will be acceptable by the people of South Sudan.” He said.

The next round of South Sudan peace talks is expected to resume next week in Ethiopia.

IGAD has given the warring parties the 5^th of March as a deadline for reaching lasting peace.
