Report on recent violations – IGAD

IGAD’s Monitoring and Verification Mechanism has published a summary report of recent violations of the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement.

It says the abuses were committed by the government and the SPLM-In Opposition.

The report says that the SPLM/A-In Opposition forces launched attacks on Renk in Upper Nile State between 17th and 26th January.

The forces also fired attack on Nassir on the 30th January and shelling of Bentiu on 1st of February, killing of two civilians.

IGAD disclosed that Government Forces burned shops, houses and a mosque in Nassir County of Upper Nile State between 19th and 21st January.
