Traders learn how to access loans without security

Author : | Published: Thursday, January 22, 2015

More than 40 traders are being trained on how to access loans without security from the Bankers’ Associations.

The training was organized by the Central Bank in collaboration with the World Bank.

The training focuses on the leasing by the World Bank.

“With this leasing, those who are dealing with agriculture will get agricultural products. If you need a generator for you to water your small garden for vegetables, you will get it,” said Daniel Akech, Director General for Banking, Supervision and Research at the Central Bank.

“You will not need to go and look for money. You get the machine, you use it. When you get your products, you sell them and then you start to pay back for the value of this product.”

Mr Akech added that the two-day training that started yesterday will also enable businessmen who cannot access loans from the commercial banks to get an alternative source of finance.
