The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) says it has postponed its upcoming Summit until 30-31 January.

IGAD’s 29th Extra-ordinary Summit, in which the South Sudan crisis is expected to feature prominently, was originally scheduled for 18th January.

According to information sent out to the Foreign Affairs Ministries of IGAD member countries, the Summit will now be held on the sidelines of the AU Leaders’ Summit on 30-31 January 2015.

Chair of IGAD Council of Ministers, Tedros Adhanom had last week disclosed that the two Principals of the South Sudan conflict are invited to the upcoming IGAD Summit, and are expected to present the outcome of the consultations of the warring parties with their constituencies.
