Around 680 peace soldiers of the necessary unified forces have reportedly been deployed to Eastern Equatoria State from the national capital Juba.

The 683 soldiers arrived in the capital Torit on Tuesday and will be dispatched to different areas, according to the press unit of the state governor.

Addressing the parade in Torit on Wednesday, Major Gen. Angong Angom, the commander of Division 7 called on the forces to shun tribalism and focus on defending the country.

Meanwhile, Eastern Equatoria State governor Louise Longong Lojore welcomed the soldiers in Torit where he told them they had been deployed to what he describes as the state of love and peace.

“We need you to come and fight criminals who are stealing cattle, abducting people’s children, and stopping vehicles along the highways,” he said.

Governor Lobong called on the Unified Forces to embark on agriculture to produce more food to sustain their lives.
