The cabinet Terekeka state has resolved that each constitutional post-holder will contribute an amount equivalent to 3-day work to the victims of recent attack in Jemeiza County, the minister of information has said.

The money will be used to buy food assistance for the displaced people in Sudan Safari. It’s unclear how many constitutional post holders are in the state.

A ten-member committee headed by the deputy governor, Valentino Kenyi, has been formed.

Its main task is to register all the civil servants and calculate the 3-day pay in accordance with one’s monthly salary.

“All the constitutional post holders have to contribute 3-day pay. And it remains open for all institutions such as business sector, private sectors and civil society organizations,” Ladu Philip told Eye Radio Monday.

In May, more than 30 people were killed in an ambush between Jemeiza and Sudan Safari. They were on their way to Jonglei state.

After that incident, a group of armed people attacked villages around areas Of Sudan Safari in Jemeiza County in Terekeka state.

As a result of that attack, more than 29,000 people have been displaced from the area to nearby islands; and no assistance has been accorded to them since then.
