The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the Islamic State militants beheaded a South Sudanese on Sunday in the Libyan town of Benghazi.

A video released by the groups shows a militant killing the man with the claim that South Sudanese Muslims are not being treated well in South Sudan.

The masked militant could be heard saying Muslims are being killed in South Sudan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the victim was a South Sudan, but is yet to give the details.

“We will get you the full information about the name of the person shortly,” said Amb Mawien Makol, spokesman for the ministry.

An opposition political party has called for investigation into the incident.

The People’s Liberal Party says it met after the news was reported and decided that the government also needs to evacuate all South Sudanese in Libya.
