UNEP to resume its activities

With the signing of the peace agreement and the establishment of the unity government, the United Nations Environment Program says it is now resuming its projects that had been interrupted by the conflict.

It says several projects in the areas of climate change, wildlife protection and conservation, and forestry were suspended due to insecurity in the country.

“With the peace agreement, and the establishment of the Transitional Government, now the donors are coming back,” said Arshad Khan, Country Manager UN Environment Program.

Mr Arshad added that most of the projects will resume next year.
