WeBG Police investigate shooting on Baggari road

Police authorities in Western Bahr el Ghazal have confirmed a shooting involving a woman along Baggari Road. The incident occurred on April 20, 2026, in Baggari Payam.

State Police Spokesperson Santion Uduol stated that the victim, identified as 20-year-old Christine Emmanuel, was attacked in an area under the control of the SPLA-IO.

According to police reports, a gunman on a motorbike opened fire on the victim before fleeing the scene.

Following the report, police and security forces conducted a patrol and assessment of the area on Tuesday morning. The patrol extended to Kilo Khamsa near Bringi.

“The findings indicated that the situation on the ground remained calm, with civilians continuing their normal daily activities,” Uduol stated.

Security forces have increased patrols in the sector to monitor the safety of residents and prevent further occurrences.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds and was evacuated to a medical facility. Authorities report that she is receiving treatment and is in stable condition.

Investigations into the identity of the suspect are ongoing. Uduol urged the public to maintain their routines and provide information to security agencies to assist in the apprehension of the perpetrator.
