The Western Bhar al-Ghazal State parliament has reopened after nine months without sittings.
It is not clear why the parliament remained closed within this time.
During the opening ceremony, state Governor Rizik Zacharia Hassan highlighted some issues facing the state.
These include reducing the salaries of police force by 11 percent and the border dispute with Sudan.
